AIS is continuing collaboratively to build for the brightest possible future of our school. The Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Board of Trustees has strategized the expansion of the Main Building to meet the programmatic needs
of all students.
Constructing additional classrooms for use by students in grades 1-12 will allow AIS the potential to split all grade-levels into two sections. Programmatic benefits of this include:
A makerspace is a collaborative learning environment filled with tools and technology that spark student creativity and inventiveness through hands-on projects. Makerspaces encourage students to think critically as they explore unique solutions to real-world problems throughout all areas of the curriculum. A dynamic makerspace also specifically allows for expanded course offerings in the sciences, visual arts, and technology among other areas.
An open-format classroom within the Main Building will allow for expanded performing arts programming, including in dance and theater.

Our need blind admissions process – unique among international schools in Guatemala – results in more than $900,000 in tuition assistance annually and will only be possible for the next generation of AIS students with your continued support.

AIS’ Teacher Training Center extends the school’s mission of providing the best education in Central America to all who seek it to a group of early career educators from in and around Antigua. Our first cohort of nine teachers in training are completing a full-time, year-long teacher training program at AIS under the guidance of faculty mentors. With continued support from generous donors we will expand this impact so that the next generation of local educational leaders will apply the innovative teaching methods they explore at AIS to classrooms throughout Antigua and its environs.
¿Hacia dónde nos dirigimos? AIS se construyó para el futuro más brillante posible para nuestro colegio gracias al apoyo de nuestro dedicado personal docente y administrativo, la Junta Directiva y nuestra comprometida comunidad.
En el último año no solo construimos nuevos espacios de aprendizaje, sino que también ampliamos el impacto de nuestros programas:
Atiender a 100 alumnos, desde maternal hasta preprimaria. Base para una educación bilingüe, multicultural y basada en la indagación a través del Creative Curriculum.
Grupos artísticos y musicales fortalecidos, incluyendo coro u orquesta. La generosidad de nuestra PTO y de la comunidad en general llenó nuestro campus con nuevos pianos, así como instrumentos de cuerda y viento para orquesta.
Espacios independientes para el estudio en silencio, trabajo en pequeños grupos y reuniones de grupos más grandes. Un espacio para que la División de Servicios Estudiantiles de AIS amplíe su impacto, incluyendo la realización de evaluaciones, diagnósticos e intervenciones para estudiantes con necesidades de aprendizaje diagnosticadas a través del Learning Lab.
Estamos en las etapas iniciales de idear estos nuevos espacios de aprendizaje y el impacto programático correspondiente que ofrecerán a nuestros estudiantes.
Por ello, el equipo de AIS está abierto a recibir todo tipo de comentarios mientras construimos juntos el futuro más brillante posible para nuestro colegio. Hay muchas formas de involucrarse, y pronto compartiremos detalles sobre cómo contribuir con tiempo, recursos y/o talento.
El Plan Estratégico de AIS especifica que todos los fondos destinados a mejoras de infraestructura provendrán de donaciones. Dado que nos encontramos en las fases iniciales de recaudación de fondos, aún no contamos con una fecha de inauguración específica. Aun así, nos sentimos honrados y agradecidos por el apoyo de los múltiples miembros y donantes de la comunidad a quienes nos enorgullece llamar amigos.
Por lo tanto, compartimos esta presentación con el optimismo de que pronto habrá más noticias emocionantes para nuestra comunidad en el horizonte.
